oil pump question

just to make sure im correct the difference between some high volume oil pumps (not a big expensive one) compared to the stock can be just the amount that it lets bypass correct? cause the new one i got looks exactly the same as the stock.

Re: oil pump question

If you have a high volume pump the pump body should be taller because the gear is bigger. That's what produces the higher volume. If the pump size is the same, you might want to make sure you didn't get a high pressure oil pump, which has a different spring that raise the oil pressure from the stock 55-60 psi to a much higher reading in the 70-80 psi range.
