Extremely Rough Idle

Recently did a engine swap 89 305 TBI on cold start engine idles fine when cold start. As soon as gas is given and returns to idle beings to idle rough and starving for gas. Takes a while but will throw a code for map sensor. New map sensor installed twice still same symptoms. What else could be wrong ? Also tach does not work well and speedometer and oil pressure gauge are questionable. Is that the instrument cluster or a sensor ? Please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: Extremely Rough Idle

Check your timing , make sure you unhook the est connector. Retarded ign timing will make the engine produce low vacuum which the map sees.
To check the gauges you'll need a good wiring diagram, heck I don't know what you are working on.

The est connector is a little burnt on the outside after looking at it. Could a bad connection there cause it be have a false reading. It has a mild cam in it also however was told I did not have to chip it. Also it smokes from tailpipe white smoke smelling like fuel. Was told it was bad fuel left in it and to try to run the old fuel out of it.

The gauge problem is the speedometer works but reads higher than really is and tripometer doesn't work at all. Tach stuck at 5 buries itself when it starts. And oil reads at 60 and stays at 60 unless idle dies
The car is a 89 Camaro 305 TBI.
Thanks for the reply.
