91 305 timing kit
I have a 1991 Camaro RS with a 305 5.0L and am looking to replace the timing chain. I was wondering if the stock chain was a single or double roller and what kits you would recommend. They have everything from $20 to $250 kits. Whats best?
thanks

Frankly I'd recommend another of the same. Just yerbasic parts-store one, should be in the $25 - 30 kind of range. Above all, NOT a cheap "roller"; because those aren't "roller" at all, they just look like one.
The reason a replacement of the same type is better than what you've already got, is that your stock setup uses a chinesium cam sprocket with phenolic teeth. Those always fail by the teeth wearing down and/or getting stripped off of the chinesium "gums"; NOT the chain going bad. Replacement ones however, have a steel sprocket.
