Does CC matter when buying new heads?

I have a 1984 camaro. With a 305 engine.
I'm thinking about buying new heads but I heard that CC size difference can cause a problem.
I don't know what CC size they are now.
How would I overcome this problem?

Yes it matters.

They are 58cc nominally. Could be anywhere from around 55 to 62 in reality. Being a property of the process of casting mass-produced cast iron, not exactly a great deal of precision is involved.

Depends on what problem you'd like to overcome.

The problem would be if I buy new heads it will make my compression lower. That can be a problem? How would I stop my compression from becoming too low?

Buy heads but put em on a 350 shortblock instead.
