Anyone know how to hook vaccum lines to the canister control valve?? HELP!!
ive got a 82 firebird with 305 computer controlled carburetor. Im trying to hook up the vent canister control valve. I know the way its hooked up on the car has to be the wrong way i think. Ive got some diagrams to hook vaccum lines up to the carburetor but my diagrams suck.. Can anyone tell me where the vaccum hoses go? Or maybe tell me what the letters on the carburetor in the diagram stand for?? So Im looking to you guys for some help.. Here are some pictures of what im talking about... Thanks

GM is pretty good about marking their components. If you clean the valve up with a cloth and some brake cleaner, I bet you'll see little raised letters saying CAN at one of the ports. That port goes to the canister. The other ports will be marked as to where they go also. The letters on the carb ports in the vacuum diagram don't mean anything in particular. They are simply for identification. On many GM carbs and TBs I have found those same letters above the vacuum ports when the part was cleaned.
The diagram you have is a copy of an underhood vacuum diagram sticker. Unfortunately, that's about as good as you'll get in the way of diagrams for that year of car. You may do a little better in a GM factory service manual for that year and model car. Helms Publishing printed those manuals and they probably still offer one. Go the their website and have a look. BTW, what makes you think that the lines are connected wrong? Is there a particular drivability issue?
