Transmission: r700
Help! Car starts and dies after a few seconds
To start off basica car specs:
1988 Firebird GTA
TPI 350 5.7L
Now to the problem, Im trying to trouble shoot here. I start the car and it kicks over fine for a few seconds then dies on me. I can keep it going by giving it gas but the moment I let up the RPMs drop low sub 1k, then idles a little rough and dies. After a few attempts I get a real rich smell from the gas.
I havent had much time to check everything yet, waiting for a day off. When I turn the key I can here the whine from the fuel pump however.
Im just trying to figure out where to start when I get home today.
