1982 Firebird Distributor and Spark Plug Wires

I have a 1982 Firebird Trans Am and I was quoted a price by a mechanic shop to do a 30K service for about X amount of dollars. Part of the service consisted of inspecting the spark plug wires and disributor.

But the mechanic shop said that if they replace the sparkplug wires and disributor cap and rotor, that the labor would go up $150 extra to what I was originally quoted. Again, this price is not including the parts because I already purchased the parts seperatly for which i will give the mechanic.

My question is if this added charge is right of $150? If you are going far enough in the car to inspect the spark plug wires and disributor, is there actually added time if you are just replacing wires, cap, and rotor?

I wrote this post for KNOWLEDGE; I really dont want to get ripped off by this mechanic!
