Re: pcv question
There was a really good article on here or on another chevy site on why its important to have positive crankcase ventilation... Many people think its just for emissions and thats not the case, PVC keeps the engine's internals clean and keeps it from gunking up... The engine benefits from having gasses in the crankcase sucked out and recirculated...

Re: pcv question
^^^
Why would you want to not have it? The whole system is a single hose, a small breather, and an unnoticeable valve. Cleaner engine and less crap in the air, the benefits have got to outweigh any possible downside I can think of, which is none.

Re: pcv question

"the air circulates around the interior of the engine, picking up and clearing away combustion byproduct gases, including a large amount of water vapor which includes dissolved chemical combustion byproducts, then exits through a simple baffle, to trap oil droplets before being drawn out through the PCV valve, and into the intake manifold.
A plugged or malfunctioning PCV system will eventually damage an engine.
A engine with a poorly-maintained PCV system will eventually become contaminated with sludge,
