Low fuel pressure pump getting 8 volts help please

Can I just run the fuel pump on a switch to getting it home? How do I test my computer? Idk if my injectors are pulsing either. Cars was backfiring the previous owner took out a cracked distributor and I put one in and got spark and full pressure on a switch and no pulsing.. The starter was ran on a switch too.. Please help

you should check power at the relay I believe the fuel pump feed from the relay goes through a body connector so there maybe corrosion there causing the voltage loss.

you should be getting a code 54, not a wise idea to not run a relay. the low current controls the high current draw. To answer your question the ecm controls the fuel pump prime and has a sense on B2 of the 1227165 ecm. you can use a noid light to check for injector pulse or have a buddy crank the car and touch a injector and feel the solenoid pulse.

Im not getting any codes other than 12. Whats code 54? How do I test my ecm? And does the prom in an ecm ever go bad?

Fuel Pump Code 54 low voltage, The memcal would not be bad if your just having low voltage to the fuel pump. You need to start testing at the relay too see where the voltage loss is.
