Tank Pressure Issue & Rough Start
Hello,
I have a 84 Berlinetta that came with a 305, the 305 blew so I went and got a 350 from Jegs. Since I've been puzzled on how to fix the pressure in my tank that builds, I guess from heat/outside temp. I no longer use the computer or the evap stuff but still have the canister sitting in the car at the moment.
From my understanding that was the only way the tank vented the pressure and that the vent in the rear by the tank only allowed air in to displace the gas taken.
I've tried drilling a very small hole in the center of a gas cap to have it vent but if I was to fill the tank, I would have gas leaking out the side of the car through the cap. Also tried just disconnecting the canister but the smell of gas was so strong I didn't want to risk it, more so being under the hood of the car.
Any suggestions?
Another problem I'm having and can't seem to figure out is when I first start my car (warm choke not engaged) it idles 100-200 RPM lower than what the idle is set at and idles rough like it wants to shut off. If I was to tap the pedal the idle will come up and smooth out.
Any ideas? Asked a few people no one knows.
