1992 Z28 starting problems
Today I took the my camaro for a cruise that ended up taking a turn for the worse. I drove it about 5 miles to my girlfriend's workplace and it ran fine. After leaving there I drove it another 5 miles or so to the store, and it ran fine driving there. I come out of the store and it didn't want to start right away. I had to crank it about 4 or 5 times before it would start. It finally started and I drove it home, another 5 miles, and it ran fine. Other than a strong gas smell everything was fine. I pull in the garage, and I could hear what sounded like the fuel pump squeeling, as well as fumes shooting from the fuel tank vent valve. I shut it off, let it sit about 30 seconds and tried to start it back up. It took a few tries, but it finally started. I started to rev the engine a little just to see if showed any symptoms of missing, and it died and I couldn't restart it. I went back out about an hour later and it still won't start.
Last summer I had the fuel pump and an injector replaced ever since then it started shooting air from the rear of the car. Especially on hot days. I made a post here and was told that it was a bad fuel tank valve. I didn't get around to replacing it before I put the car into storage for the winter. Would this cause the car to not want to start and suddenly die like that? Possible fuel pump problem?
Here's the back story of what happened last year leading to the fuel pump/ injector replacement.

Sorry for the long post. I just want to get to the bottom of this. Nothing sucks worse than not being able to trust your vehicle!
