Speedometer problem

91 Camaro 5.0 engine, automatic 32,000 actual one owner miles. My problem is that the speedometer, recently, sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I have read through all of the other posts with model years like this having this problem. I changed the VSS on the transmission but that didn't help, It works now and then, I left Orlando and headed to Daytona yesterday and about 20 miles out of Orlando it starts working but bounces now and then but stays working most of the time. Like I said, I have read most of the other posts on this issue and most of the cars are not ones with low miles like mine. I figure it must be in the computer, can this be fixed or will it need replacement. I don't think I have a problem that is mechanical, loose connections worn parts, but electronic. The car has low miles but has 21 year old electronic parts and the car is in a hot humid enviroment. I have read that many people have given up and one wants to use a shotgun on his problem. I guess if I could find a new ECM it would be around a million $$$$. Leasing a car seems like a good idea nowdays with this electronic crap. Just turn it in every two years and walk away. I look under the hood of these new Camaros and just shake my head. I have great respect for today's mechanics who have to work on this stuff that is cramed into small spaces and learn a lot of new things every year. Sorry to be long winded, just venting instead of spending time with Mr Bourbon.
