car sluggish, no power
I have a really weird issue with my 88 trans am gta, 305 TPI, 5 speed
The best way to describe the problem is like taking off from a red light while in 5th gear. The car is extremly sluggish, no power in any gear, it stutters and puts, if i put it in neutral and hit gas the engine revs up fine
Is this a fuel pressure issue? I just finished replacing the injectors, I had this problem once or twice before but it went away if i shut car off and re-started it, now its doing it all the time
What should the fuel pressure be at the rail with car idling?
Any other ideas on the cause other than fuel? The plugs, wire, fuel filter, and cap n rotor were all replaced last fall, and only have a few miles on em

Sounds like you need to invest in a factory service manual from HELM INC.

Re: car sluggish, no power
I have a 1988 service manual, found it posted here, I have used it to help trace a wiring issue i was having earlier, I just dont know what to be searching for now
to me it seems like a fuel pressure issue, I am trying to locate a fuel pressure tester, was looking for some other suggestions to test, check that could cause a similiar issue like I am having

J/K sorry had to..
If you have a factory service manual it has a section on just what what your talking about. Just have to dig around.

The fuel pressure should be 36-42psi running, 38-46psi while engine is off, these are the typical average numbers.
Hook up a timing light, check the timing & make sure it advances when you rev it.
