Grounding out
So this past monday I finished my swap and hook everything back up but when I go to connect my positive terminal it sparks cause its grounding out. I found where its coming from and its the starter. I looked all through the starter area and changed wires around to see why its happening but with no luck

Re: Grounding out
First of all, when hooking up a battery, the last connection should ALWAYS be the negative terminal at the battery.
In your case, do you suspect the positive cable might have the insulustion rubbed through somewhere? It's a hell of a long cable on these cars.

Well I know there's a bare spot on the power cable to the spark coil but its covered up. If the starter casing would touch the block would that ground it out?

I found the problem, had the battery to starter cable hooked up to the heat shield bolt Haha. Now my key wont crank the enginover, I gotta use a vu.o switch to start it
