Code 25
I have a 1989 Camaro TBI v8, and just need some clarity. I keep grabbing a code 25; and i live in CA. So i have been trying to get this puppy to pass smog and now that this code has popped it will immediately be failed. As you know, I'm sure. Anywho, I have been searching the forums and seaching on this code, and have found in the Haynes Repair manual that it is located " in the air cleaning housing". right there in black print. Yet... i search part stores and they are identical to the coolant sensor. if you pull it up on auto-zone, it even refers it to the coolant sensor. That is the part that confuses me just a tad. IS it the same? if it were the same, why would they sell it under a different name? or is there an identical sensor located elsewhere? Doesn't quite make sense to have the same sensor with two names. Thank you for your help.

Re: Code 25
Alright, so apparently after much research(mostly from this forum) i have found the solution to this problem. Apparently the IAT/MAT is the same as the "air charge sensor". At least.. according to my ECM. so i looked over some items over at the TBI section, and saw a few people had the air charge sensor on their cars aswell. So, after scratching my head at this SEL light, i decided to change it. but it even came on after i switched it out. I put my tester on the plug to make sure it was getting 5v. and it checked out. I cleared the code and took a drive. I noticed it would come on only after going a bit of a distance. Yet, would clear at Idle. I took it back home and inspected the sensor, and ran my hand down the wires. I then noticed there was a little cut on the yellow wire leading to the sensor. Apparently, it had rubbed against the EGR solenoid holding bracket. haha man do i feel stupid for that. So i repaired the wire and the code was gone.
I thought i would post this in case it may help anyone else out.
