Has anyone experienced collapsed rubber lines that connect from the main lines to the rail lines on a 1985-1992 Firebird 350 TPI?
Are these lines still available through GM dealers?

 

I have experienced collapsed rubber hoses, both brake hoses and fuel hoses, in a few cases. They can be tricky to pinpoint and often lead to misdiagnosis of the fuel pump. I don't know if GM offers the hoses, but I doubt it. Of course it doesn't hurt to ask at a dealership parts department. Otherwise, you can make replacements using several different types of high pressure hose, including braided hose, and fittings from Russell or Aeroquip to name just two options. They both make the GM o-ring hose fittings. Oh, and another option is your local rubber supply. Here in Portland we have Premier Rubber where they will rebuild any hose, using your fittings, and crimping them onto new hose that is superior to the original, making an exact copy of the failed part. The cost is very reasonable too.

 

Thanks for the reply, I am on my 5th fuel pump trying to figure out my fuel pressure loss syptom after 20 min driving.
When I prime (override the relay) the fuel lines it sounds like it takes 5-8 sec to fill the line, like its clogged somewhere.
With a brand new fuel pump metal lines in good condition, new injectors, filter, regulator and a pulsating feeling at the lines when the engine is running the only weak link could be 25 year old rubber lines that have crapped out internally.
Just another thing to try.
