Hard to start when engine is warm-1984 Firebird S/E 2.8L

The title says it all. I have 1984 Firebird S/E with 2.8L engine. It runs great and starts easily when the car is cold. However, when it's been warmed up, it almost sounds like the battery is dead, slow cranking, but then starts. There is a new battery in it now, over rated for the car, and it's still happening. It's been this way since I bought the car. I suspect the starter, but wanted to get some expert opinions.
Thanks!

Chris
