BBC intake ??
OK I have two BBC GM intake manifolds one bears the # 3931067 which represents a 396 intake. The other intake looks the same in design however it is taller with longer runner lengths. The # 3931087. I cannot find any solid information on this second intake. Can anyone help me out?

Re: BBC intake ??
Original HP rating is no help. Manifold height is according to original vehicle. In theory the taller intakes should help power, but with those old factory castings, there's not much difference without extensive porting. If both manifolds are free, test-fit both under whatever hood you have. Shorter manifolds allow more air filter height, but stock castings are restrictive enough that this won't be much of an issue. Think of these as place-holders until you can buy something more modern. Even Edelbrock's Performer EGR or Weiand's new "peanut-port" Street Warrior will far out-perform either of the 2 you have.

And through a bunch of other links, 396 P/U back in 68. Doesn't make sense due to the longer runners... but hey, maybe the internet is wrong.
