So im going to be buying a new starter but I dont know what flywheel or if its a flexplate i have? I have Im prty sure its the 153 but I can't find my answer on here if it the 153 will these starts work on my car?I called autozone and a rebuilt starter is 178$ and if these two will work what one is better? thanks for the help.

they make starters that work with the 153 and 168 tooth flywheels, so just grab one of those.

If you have an automatic trans you have a flexplate and not a flywheel. You should pull the starter out and check the flexplate teeth to make sure they're not chewed up or damaged . If they are a new starter won't help at all

You can use a mini starter if you want to. Its better than factory and lighter.

153 tooth flexplate is OE on your car.
Use a mini starter. Better all around. They became OEM on GM vehicles starting in the early 90's

You would chew up starters quickly and probably damage the flex plate more which would continue to accelerate the destruction process. You might get away with it starting a few times but you're only asking for trouble. It's a really bad choice to make
