Connecting rods locked in place on piston

Im in the process of building my first engine so im light on experience.

I had my new pistons pressed onto my existing connecting rods by a machine shop. Before the connecting rods were on the pistons, the wrist pins would move freely inside the piston, however now that the connecting rod is attached, some of the rods do not move freely and will only move if i apply alot of pressure to move them. A few of the rods move somewhat freely but the rest are close to being locked in place.

Is this a problem? Do i need to have them removed and done all over again?

Or is this typical, and is there a way for me to loosen them up and get them where they move without resistance?

thanks for your help!

TRY spraying the piston pin area with a good penetrating oil, and working the rods back and forth, if it does not correct in a minute or so with penetrating oil,its a problem, take them back and have the machine shop correct their mistake, even pressed pin pistons should flop back and forth just by moving the rod back and forth, somethings binding, pressed pins are locked in the rods but should rotate easily in the piston pin bore

I lubed them up and worked it in a bit. They are moving freely but stand straight up with them laying on the piston. Is that still too tight?

Re: Connecting rods locked in place on piston

they should EASILY move but they should be ok, Im reasonably sure that a couple minutes running time will burnish the pin bores to the required clearance, but Id sure let them soak over night in a 90%/10% mix of marvel mystery oil and diesel fuel so you get some oil in the pin bores before installation
