LT1 performance mods

so, the LT1 had a few different versions, the one i bought is unfortunately the least powerful of all of them... yay.......

so... here's my question. i already have a thread asking what the differences ARE between the motors, but it hasn't been responded to yet.. so i'll make some assumptions.

let's say the difference is in the heads and cam.

would it be cost effective to buy corvette heads and cam, or would it be about the same price to buy PERFORMANCE heads and cam for an actual upgrade..

in other words, i'm trying to figure out if it's a scenario like "if it costs $600 to make a vette motor or $600 for bad *** heads and cam, to get 450 hp then obviously go with more power" ....

etc...

though 600 is unrealistic, just making an example.

thx

Re: LT1 performance mods

Look up Llyod Elliot or Advanced Induction for anything LTx related. LE is cheaper but AI is better.

Go here: http://www.top-et.com/impalass/index...edClass=6&Sort=
Highlight the entries by the category of mods you're thiniking of doing (Classes 1-6). Then click on "detail" for specifics about each entry. You can get a good idea of what mods are effective for those heavy cars
Also, check out www.impalassforum.com I'm almost reluctant to mention it because it's really deteriorated in the last few years with the rudeness that's crept in and driven many of the contributors away; however, the "stickies" at the top of the Performance section have some good information.
