So on my 84z28 the sending unit has gone out on it but i can't find a sending unit for it anywhere.....i called part stores and searched online and they all say that they dont have them...

I was wondering if this would work

What do you mean the sending unit has gone out? Do you mean rusted through...?

Test the wire before it reaches the gauge, see what it's reading in comparison to the gauge. You can either do this with the sending unit removed by swinging the float lever up and down while getting a reading, or leave it in tact and test it in increments as the fuel goes down...

Re: CANNOT FIND A 84 FUEL SENDING UNIT ANYWHERE!!

The one you posted is for a TPI car in 85.

Here is a picture of my old carbed unit next to the EFI unit. As you can see it is just a tube with a sock with no provision for a fuel pump like the EFI unit.
