fuel pump issue?

ok so I've had some performance issues in the recent past and have addressed them all little by little and my car is running well, for the most part...

87 iroc 305 tpi manual 5 speed w/ edelbrock shortys and 3 inch exhaust to the back....

i've reset minimum idle air speed, verified correct voltage at TPS... full tune up.....

runs great EXCEPT when the car is cold (normal because it's old?) and when the tank gets low (not empty, with like 1-3 gallons left) the car runs like CRAP. If the car is warmed up, and with more than a quarter tank of gas, it runs like a god damn charm....

Fuel pump is failing maybe?

Re: fuel pump issue?

Here I'll bump this for ya. Any check engine light? Codes? Checked fuel pressure? Replaced fuel filter?

Re: fuel pump issue?

I appreciate the bump man... seems like people just look over some posts on here. Only code I have is 42. I can't get it to go away. I'm going to replace the ignition control module and see if that works. I had a code 33 a month ago but after I clean the MAF it went away. New fuel filter when I had a tune up done. I still have to check fuel pressure... I don't have a fuel pressure gauge yet

Check for “trash” in the tank »»» water, rust, etc.
