Should I install 7mm spark plug wires even if stock?
Here's my dilemna:
I'm just a few steps away from completing a full tuneup on my car and learned that the stock part number for Delco wires fitting my car is 708Q.
I ordered and received them from Rock Auto, however, when I opened the package, the wires are clearly marked as being 7mm.
This car is 'fair weather only', but has had some minor performance upgrades over stock (exhaust, K&N filters, air foil, MSD coil, shift kit etc). I've heard that 8mm and even 8.5mm are better choices, so here's my question:
Will the 7mm work fine without me noticing any difference, or, is there a Delco part number I should be using instead, specifically for my engine?
Thanks in advance!

They'll be fine. If they aren't cross-firing, arcing or able to shock you when you touch the wire, then they are thick enough. Making the insulation thicker is not likely to add any benefit immediately. It might last longer. There are many other things that can be done to the wire to actually make a large difference in performance without changing the thickness of the insulation.

Thanks for your response. I could have sworn I had seen that part number somewhere as being a performance upgrade over the base wires. Probably just a marketing gimmick.
