406 build

Motor is 10.8 to 1 and im looking at the brodix 225 runner heads, im thinking they were called "dragonslayer" heads ... and a comp 314hr.

Will this be too much head for the cam and compression? Also im looking at the ones rated for max 600 lift. The cam is 600/600. The springs they recommend are 403 open pressure and the ones on the head are 400 open. Will this cause any issues?

Re: 406 build

Strip race car only??. What is the intended use??. Some are built for WOT only. I think I would like to see more compression. But all kinds of questions about block prep and what is the bottom end parts also come to mind. I won't lie to you,but we have used OEM blocks using aftermarket bottom end parts and the best we could do in block prep. And raced in 9.90 class. We where at 12.5 to 13.0 in compression with those and used Brodix heads. Still after all that the cylinders did move around so leakdown tests and ring seal was all over the map.

Here is a app list from Brodix:

You'll find if you call them their tech department is one of the best in the business.

Re: 406 build

the dragon slayers will work nice on a street driven 406 with the right cam. they are a little of the big side but will give you room to grow aswell, if it was me id choose a cam somewhere in the area of about 236 duartion on the intake, 240-242 on the exhaust(@0.050") .550-575" lift and 110lsa if its a auto, and a 108 lsa if its a stick.
