Subtle differences

I am swapping my Crap-O-Five out with a 350 that i rebuilt and i noticed a few differences when i go to drop it in. First off my fuel pump only has 2 lines on it and my 305 had 3. Is one for the EGR? Secondly, my water pump has a pipe plug installed where the 305 wp has a port for connecting a hose. Do i need to remove the pipe plug and put that hose connection on it?

Re: Subtle differences

Don't even bother.

Take everything off of the 305 that's different from what's on the 350, and put the 305 things on the 350.

Re: Subtle differences

My 305 fuel pump got smashed so i had to replace it and the WP was all rusted internally from sitting for so long. I removed the motor and deployed and life happened and blah blah blah. Plus i have already installed both parts on the block.

A fuel pump is like $12.

Go buy THE RIGHT one.

the WP was all rusted internally
A water pump is like $15 or something.

Go buy one of those, too.

Still costs you less than the oil you're going to pour in it. IOW, chicken feed, WAY down in the noise level of the project as a whole.

Plus i have already installed both parts on the block.
6 bolts and they're uninstalled. 15 seconds. 30 seconds to put em back. In the time it took you to argue, you could already have been finished swapping em out.

Heater core... hot water TO it comes out the intake (the hot side of the motor), cooled water returning FROM it comes back either into that port, or the port in the cold tank of the rad. So yeah, if your cold heater core hose goes to the rad, you can put a plug in the WP one.
