Aluminum head questions, J&C cylinder head exchange
I found a set of aluminum heads on Ebay, http://www.ebay.com/itm/360490712702...84.m1423.l2649
I was wondering if anyone has used them before. Also, I have to use the accel short spark plugs on my iron straight plug heads to clear the headers, will the angled plugs allow me to run regular length plugs?

Depends on the header design

I have a 383ci, edelbrock performer rpm intake, holley 750 cfm carb and a comp cam with a duration of 287 intake 305 exhaust and .489 intake .476 exhaust lift. I dont race the car I just want it to run and sound good on the street. do you think the 2.05 intake valve and 200 cc intake runner will run ok or should I go with 2.02 intake and 185 cc runner?
Re: Aluminum head questions, J&C cylinder head exchange
It looks like their selling engine quest heads, their cast in Australia, pretty good heads. You should verify that what I'm saying is true before you spend any money. I'd go with the smaller choice for your application, also springs that handle .650 lift will be too stout for a flat tappet cam. Again you need to find out from the seller what the spring rates are and compare it to what your cam grinder recommends.

Ask questions of the seller! It looks to me like that's $639 EACH. That would not be a good deal for basically stock performance. If anything, the larger valve sizes will be a detriment to performance because of cylinder wall shrouding.

Re: Aluminum head questions, J&C cylinder head exchange
The heads are made by prostar, and I would use the springs that came with my cam kit. It's $639 for the pair, I'm not really looking to build an all out race engine but then again I don't want to get beat by Hondas. I want the aluminum so I can polish them.
Re: Aluminum head questions, J&C cylinder head exchange
I don't know anything about prostar, they might be great or maybe not. Whatever you choose bore shrouding is not problem with a 4" bore and 2.02 or 2.05 valves. Does it exist? Yes Is it a problem? No

They just look like another set of pro comps to me.
