1.6 Full Roll Rocker Arms (Help Me Understand Something)

Hey folks, I have a just a few things that I need help understanding...

I have a stock internal L98 with 50k on it and am wishing to install a set of Comp Cams 1.6 Pro Magnum full roller rocker arms that were previously installed on my other GTA that had a .500/510 lift cam installed into it, when the rocker arms were added valve springs that were able to handle the added lift were added at the same time.

When asked about any installation problems that may occur from installing these rocker arms onto my current GTA with the stock motor, I was met by my (PREVIOUS) mechanic with a flurry of disagreement and reasons as to why it should not be done... (I apologize for I don't remember word for word as to what he said)

I was under the impression that on a completely stock L98 the lift increase added by the rocker arms would not be enough to throw things into a bind (Bent push-rod/Broken Valve spring etc...)

Can anyone tell me if my 1.6 Full roller rocker arms can be installed on a stock internal L98 and be OK?

If not can I get just a brief answer as to why not?

I hate to sound completely helpless folks, but I've heard so many back and forth opinions I could really use some solid knowledge that I've experienced here on TGO.

Thank Y'all

I would find another mechanic. I have ran them for years without issue. As long as you get the self alligning type to fit under your centerbolt style valve covers.

They are self adjusting, but you still need to install them properly. I used the wiggle up and down method to find zero lash , then tighten half a turn.

You should have plenty of stock spring for 1.6's I also have had them for years. It's just a poor mans cam upgrade, that's not as good as a new cam.
