tpi sending assembly

I have a 1991 z28 with the TPI 350 5.7 liter engine. I pulled the fuel sending unit to replace the fuel pump and noticed that the small thing that looks like a thimble is cracked and busted. I need to know if it can be replaced or if anyone has one or if the whole assembly has to be replaced just for this part. It has a spring with a small plastic body inside, I believe it is some tyoe of vacuum. Below is a pic of it off & sitting (not mounted) on the hanger. I need this piece if anyone has one or know where I can get it. I cant put it back together knowing this part is badly damaged. Any help or info is greatly appreciated, Thanks for your time
