trans am gta convertible help needed

hi all not sure if im posting in the right forum as have only just joined here but here we go anyway have bought a 1989 trans am gta convertible 5.7 tpi which has been stood up for about 3 years i will be restoring it back to its former glory new roof respray ect but first have to get the thing going it has no spark at all took the distributor cap off rotor is turning but the pick up coil looks rusty as hell so got someone coming out tomorrow to check ive got power to the coil ect then if ok thinking about getting the hypertech coil cap and rotor new pick up coil and ignition module are these hypertech coils any good no horror storys about them i hope and whos best to order from jegs or summit also will it be ok to run with msd 6al ignition and plug leads sorry for the long sa im sure will be posting here alot along the way many thanks

Make sure you're getting power to the coil/distributor before you start replacing stuff.
