still leaking oil, HELP!!

i have an 89 camaro rs with the 5.0 v8, i replaced the oil filter (thinking it had a hole in it or something) because it looks like its leaking around the oil filter area, im not sure where it could be leaking from, if you have any ideas it would be highly appreciated

Re: still leaking oil, HELP!!

My ESP skills are not working well today, could you tell us what kind of car, engine, etc you have. If it's pouring out around the oil filter when the engine is running, then you probably have a gasket from a previous filter still stuck to the engine oil filter adapter. You'll have to remove the filter to see. Did it start leaking right after an oil filter change?

Re: still leaking oil, HELP!!

could be two oil seals or no oil seal on filter, leaking valve cover, leaking oil pressure sender, oil pan seal.

clean it off real good, drive it, and look for the highest point with oil on it - that will help you get an idea of where it's really coming from
