Whats the safest way to Jack it up far enough to do a sending unit/pump
This vert I got had a fuel pump issue. The pump is new but the wiring in the tank was messed up. The previous owner cut a hole and did it that way. I pulled the pump (through the hole) and fixed it to get it running that way but the sending unit isnt working either and frankly I just want my fuel lines to be nice and done right instead of cut to do it the easy way.
I plan to replace the sending unit and pump. But while its apart I want to weld in a section of rear hump and fix it right.
So since I dont have a lift how to I jack it up high enough. Obviously I would chock the front wheels but at the angle the car would be at when lifted that high where could I safely position jack stands? I'll probably pull the tank then position the car at a less agressive angle and let it sit for a few weeks while I can get a section of metal to fix the hump.

when I did mine I jacked the whole car up 2 feet front and rear use 2 jacks as not to twist the car too much and use 6x6 blocks not jack stands. i actually put the front tires on ramps and jacked up the dif on the rear as high as the jack would go then blocked rite in front of the trail arm mount on the frame . lower the jack ad a block then go up again . be carefull make sure the blocks on the jack are under the dif perfectly or you run the risk of it falling off you dont have to remove the rear completly just remember to unbolt the rubber break line block from the axcel to have enough swing

Jack up by pumpkin and then put Jacks in front of the lower control arms on the frame then lower rear all way down. Should be plenty of room to remove tank.

Do you have a floor jack? Lift it from the rear end, place stands at the boxed section where the rear control arms connect. Yes, block the front wheels & make sure its on level ground too. You need to lower the rear end to pull the tank.

I put my floor jack under the pumpkin, and raised it up that way. Once it got high enough, I put jack stands under the frame because you need to make sure you can lower the suspenion becvause extended (down) is the only way to twist the tank out that I know of.
