broken oil pressure sending unit

so as i took out the engine i find this



would this render my block useless?

very fixable-keeping repair debris out of the oil passage will be the hardest part.Could grind the upper part of the oil hole to a slightly larger diameter them tap some new threads further down to accept a longer pipe for the sender.To reduce chance of debris dropping in,could do the repair with engine upside down or possibly take a galley plug out under that passage and use a small magnet to attract away iron particles-don't have a spare block handy to examine right now to see if that would work well...

That would render the block far more useless than the minor cosmetic damage back there where it doesn't matter.

@sofakingdum haha yeah i know, but im dealing with what i have, i dont feel like busting out 500$ at a junkyard for a 350
