Best Cam for HSR?
Hey guys, I did a search and all I could get were answers for a 383. My car is a 1992 Z28, only mods so far are full exhaust. I am getting a little ahead of myself as I won't be starting any engine modifications until my suspension has been taken care of but in the interest of proper planning, what would the be the best cam shaft to be used in conjunction with an HSR? I was originally planning on buying a crane cam 2032 to be used with a properly ported, stock TPI along with an AFPR as a nice mild high 13 second street car. But I have seen the light and want to go HSR. So all things considered, what would be the best cam to use? I know I will need a more aggressive cam to optimize the HSR, but keep in mind I am wanting a quick, DAILY DRIVEN, mild street car. Any advice is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance fellas!

Re: Best Cam for HSR?
What gears will you be running?
Manual or auto? TC stall?
How high are you willing to shift it to optimize the cam's powerband? The extent of valvetrain upgrades depends on your answer.

Re: Best Cam for HSR?
If you're sticking to the 3.23's, I'd limit the cam to something like a CC502 (218/224/112) and a 9.5" TC in the 3000-3200 range. LT4 Hotcam would be decent too, but weaker in the low and midrange.
With more gearing, step up to a CC503 (224/230/112) and an efficient 9.5" TC like a Yank SS3600. No sense in going with more cam than that with the stock heads.
