Re-installing Air Conditioning
I have a 85 Camaro and the air conditioning was ripped out by previous owners. The brackets and all components are gone, the evaporator is still in the HVAC box, but the lines were simply cut off. I can get the entire system as well as a serpentine belt drive out of a wrecked car at the local wreckers very cheap.
The problem is that the car was originally a TPI 305 and was converted to carb. The engine harness was cut out and the only part that remains is the starter, alternator and distributor harness. The car works fine in that regard.
There is still a plug in the engine bay for the accumulator and the climate control switches inside the car are still there. the heat and all settings work fine.
What controlled the compressor, telling it to cycle on and off? Is it possible to re-install the air conditioning in the cars current electrical condition?

Re: Re-installing Air Conditioning
Good question. The old owner ripped parts of it out, but I finished the job. Kind of thinking to put it back one day.
