Re: Noid test light which will work???
you do not need to tear up your harness I never stated that. check for power on each bank on the pink/black stripe wire with the key on. If that is good you said there is no light or blinking with the noid installed and key on or cranking if thats the case the ecm is bad or the ecm ground is bad.

Re: Noid test light which will work???
ok so im very confused rite now but i understood what you said about the grounds but the injectors plugs go to a harness so i dont think ill be tearing up the harness to check those grounds but the ecm ground is basicaly on the back of the block bolted to the motor??? And if it is how can i see and or make a better connection with it if its back there lol sounds like im reading something wrong

Re: Noid test light which will work???
You have not given much information to go on so its all guesses here.
In order for the ecm to pulse the injectors if vats equipt the ecm needs to have a hz signal from a modulator or passkey module. Once this has been done the engine needs to crank at 400 or more rpm and send a tach signal to the ecm the ecm will control the ground side of the injectors to fire them. There needs to be switched power on the pink/blk wire to power the injector coils. I can't say if your icm is bad , you could see cranking rpm on a scanner or tunerpro but you need to start with the basics.

Re: Noid test light which will work???
Well what do you mean by much information? Like how I was driving it and it died all the sudden but was kinda running like crap before it died when id give it alot of gas, or how the fuel pressure is 45psi, it has spark, it starts with gas threw the throttle body, and the noid light did nothing when i tried starting it. Lol what else do i need to give you that might help fix this any quicker or cheaper lol?

you never verified power to the injectors you had your meter set to ohms witch is a resistance not a power setting

Its not a waste. Everything your asking over and over is in that book.
You could look at the book over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
The book truly pays for itself after a few at home fixes. You'll be surprised you could live without it.
And we wouldn't have to decode everyone of your posts so we could read them.

Look on fleabay for the correct part and just get both... got to be less than $100, if not keep looking. Buy a "Computer" from a camaro or firebird matching your year, engine, and transmission. Make sure the one you buy accepts returns.

I dont have enough money to buy both, and i dont think some of you are understanding that im only 16 and I dont have **** spoon fed to me.
Also I dont knw what setting my multimeter is supposed to be set on to check the banks, but i tried the 9v setting and got nothing, but idk if you can check it like that, oh and the computer is like $120 and the prom is like $80 all on ebay.

The injectors are pulsed with 12volts so, set your voltmeter (vom) to 20 DCV. However, you are better off using a test light so you can see it pulse when the ECM sends the 12V DC signal.
If you can't afford the best manual the guys suggested at least get one from your local parts store as an introductory text.

It doesnt have 20dcv, and like I said i know its the ecm and if not all well i can just sell it and get my money back.
Tunedperformance can you please tell me which one it would be if the ecm was to be the issue so that i can get this fixed already?

Re: Noid test light which will work???
You have not posted if you have power to the injectors yet, I do have a 1227165 ecm but I want to really try to narrow do the correct issue. If you have power to the pink.black wire of each injector bank and you have a good ecm ground You should see if you have communication with the ecm bye blinking codes it will not communicate and you have verified the ecm's power and switched power and ground at that point I would say the ecm is bad. You have not said you have power at the injectors so at this point your guess of throwing parts at it is just as good as mine.

Ok ya I could do that just let me know how much and when but it will be about 4-5 days untill i have the money on my paypal account to give to you. Also is the computer box called the ecm or is it called something else because i would think the prom would go bad instead of the box rite? But if the ecm is the problem then that would be reffering to the metal box and not the prom chip rite? sorry if confusing just curious about that.

Re: Noid test light which will work???
send me a pm with your full name and shipping address, I just pmd the guy who has a loaner ecm I have. If the ecm is the issue you can purchase it from me then if not just ship it back to me after you try it out. The memcals vary rarely fail and if they do you should still have limp home mode. you will need to remove your memcal and put in the ecm that I am having shipped to you.
