help Id'ing engine block

Ok,ive got a gen2 sbc. Casting 14093638, suffix code says its from a 94 truck tbi. Its a 4 bolt main and had all roller provisions fully drilled and tapped but had flat tappet cam. I picked up a engine from a 88 Iroc camaro.same casting. Different suffix. This one says its from a 88 camaro( correct) had all roller equipment in engine. So I try to take it off and put it on my 94 engine. Everything went great till it got to the cam lock plate . The bolt holes for the plate are closer together on the 94 engine. But work fine on the 88. Am I dealing with some sort of hybrid block here or what? I'd like roller valvetrain but I don't know what to buy to match it up correctly! Thanks in advance guys.

There are two different bolt spacing for the cam retainer plate on roller engines
; early and late style.

You need the retainer plate with the bolt spacing to suit the year of block you are using
Roller cam thrust plate, (#10088128 ) with a 3.620" bolt pattern.
1991-2000 engines use (# 10168501 ) with 3.294" bolt pattern

Thats a relief.I hate mixing and matching parts.I had no idea they had early and late rollers though I thought they were all the same. The link was much appreciated. Thanks a million!

Other than the longer cam pin length ( for LTX engines ) the retainer plate is the only difference I know of between roller engines
