Engine bay clean-up
Hey guys, I have been working on my engine bay this last week. This car was originally a V6 automatic RS. Just to give some background, when I purchased the car it was a TBI 305 auto. Why someone went through with this swap is beyond me. When I first got it, I was told the speedo didn't work it was the vss which was a load of crap. A year later I finally found out about the vss buffer. Okay, back to the story. I now have a T56 swapped in, spohn crossmember with torque arm and gonna be dropping in a carbed 350. I want to hear your guys thoughts and ideas on what I should do with the engine bay. One thing I will do be keeping is the A/C. I am a HVAC tech and have gathered all the A/C parts to put it back together. So that stays.
I am thinking of using bondo to fill in a bunch of these random holes in the frame and wheel wells.

The first picture is the latest picture of my progress, it was a very dirty engine bay when I started.

Astro van shaft gets rid of those sloppy rag joints and replaces them with u-joints and the column bearing roplaces your stock bushing that wore out ten years ago .andIts pretty.

I'm doing the same thing, I got mine all cleaned up and went with a semi-gloss black. I agree with the comment about getting rid of the original coolant and washer bottles. I tried cleaning mine up and it was a lost cause.... which is what actually started my whole engine bay paint job. Funny how little jobs snowball out of control so fast, lol.

Re: Engine bay clean-up
I got the astro van shaft modded today and ready to go, was not able to get it installed yet. I did not get the bearing, oh well. I am gonna be getting the coolant bottle and washer fluid bottle tomorrow. Got my wiper motor, arms and vent as well as A/C and air box removed. Does anyone know what I can do as far as fuel lines go. My car was converted to TBI before I got it and the fuel lines are hard lined up to the gear box then goes to rubber lines. I have never flaired these kind of lines but I do know how to flair. I want to cut them back and run them up and along the transmission tunnel. Also, the hard line coming from the tank for the EVAP. The EVAP stuff is gone and I want to know if cutting this hard line back and putting a rubber cap and hose clamp will be enough to square that away and get a vented gas cap to solve the pressure problem.
