long list of issues, need direction
Recently purchsed a 86 iroc z28, as far as i can tell it's all stock. Trying to slowly get it dialed in, some issues i'm frustrated by are;
High idle and slams into drive
no gauges work, except oil pressure,
Replaced tps, set to .54
cleaned iac
set timing to 6btc.
Car would not idle before cleaning of iac, now high idle n salms into drive.
Idle does come down some but still to high.
As far as cluster, tried paper clip for gas gauge n it didnt move. I cant seem to locate ground for cluster, pic would help.
Thanks for any help, I apologize for long post but I'm frustrated. lol

Re: long list of issues, need direction
i had alot of the same sorta problems you were having, i have an 87 iroc that had a tpi 305 in it, truth is with those factory gauge clusters, they are junk and expensive to fix, those tps sensors are tricky and very touchy i had to mess with mine a shitload of times before i could even get it to idle, thats when i could get it to start. the easiest thing with the gauges to do, is just install either mechanical ones that require no wiring, or install some electronic ones, which require a little bit of wiring. i mounted mine right in the center in front of my heater outlets( my car doesnt have anything having to do with the ac or heat in it) saved a litttle weight doing so also. ur gonna have alot of time and money invested into those cars to figure out their issues and when they have this many swapping in a carbed intake and a 600 cfm carb would save u hell of alot of trouble, just make sure u look up a wiring diagram and find certain wires you need such as important grounds, your starter wires, like 4 or 5 that go into the starter on these cars, and dont forget your neutral safety that goes into the starter unless u wanna start in drive lol
