I just replaced my low charging stock alternator with a Power Master alternator. Its now charging at a better voltage but like the stock alternator its hot to the touch...is that normal??

Re: hot alternator?

Somewhat, yes. But how much, is another matter.

Check the voltage at its output (between the big stud terminal and the case), and compare to the voltage across the battery terminals, after it's been running for 10 or 15 minutes. If there's ALOT of difference, the batt is probably toast; might have a shorted cell, especially if the batt voltage drops to 12 or below real quick after shutting off the engine.
