Car wont start, help me diagnose

Hey everyone, I have a 1988 camaro with a Carbed 383sbc and T56 transmission.

4 days ago the car started fine, The only thing I did between then is (in the process) of converting my carb from an electric choke to manual. re, route my manual water temp gauge (which is running through all the wires by the fusebox by driver knee) and I took out my amp and subs to sell.

So now the car wont start. No crank, no turn over, no click, no nothing. Only thing that happens when I turn the key, is my radio turns off and my broken in dash temp gauge goes up and down.

battery is good starter is good and all that, I believe its something to do with the big purple wire that goes to the starter.

I already tested it by using a multimeter to see if it gets 12+volts, and it gets nothing, whether the key is off (obviously) on accesory, or acting like im turning the engine on, the purple wire isnt getting any power.

But i have no idea what to test next. Ignition relay/swtich?

(Before all this, I never had to put my clutch in for the car to start, it would start regardless of the clutch being pushed in or not)

Im hoping to get it running by sunday so i can actually go to the NTTGA meet in arlington, but its looking grim with the car not turning over and my wire/bracket for my manual choke swap not here yet :/

Did it have a alarm hooked up? Check any wiring you might of messed with when removing your system.

Re: Car wont start, help me diagnose

There should be a neutral safety switch activated by your clutch pedal to prevent you from starting the car in gear unless the clutch is pushed in.
Sounds like you may have upset the wiring down there.

Re: Car wont start, help me diagnose

I've never had to push my clutch in to start the car because the previous owner did something. And I think it's something down there since I was down there trying to route my temperature gauge wire.

Re: Car wont start, help me diagnose

The engine turns over with a remote starter so it's somewhere in my ignition. I'm trying to change my ignition/starter switch. I got it off but having a hard time putting it back in. Not sure how the rod goes in it.
