Re: Still cant get l98 motor started? Please help
Alright i just checked those 3 ports in ecm harness and the test light didnt light for any of them, and i scraped back some wire on all three then touched the bare wire with test light, and it didnt light, with ignition on.
Also i tested the injectors with my meter and it read 12.50volts, and my test light still works aswell.

You just stated your ecm is not powered

(my guess is, the power wires from the ECM go to the starter switch on the steering column or the factory fuse box)
Then hook the ECM power wires up properly and fix all your scraped back wires..
You can then ditch the hotwired inj harness you just wasted 3 days messing with, because you didn't want to test things you were told to.

What do you mean trace the wires back lol? Would you like a picture of the wires, but if you can tell me the colors i need to look for coming from the ecm, ill spend the next hour or two tracing them through the wire maze
Also if you could where they are supposed to be hooked up to since the wires that go to motor have a plastic tube thing thats hard and not to see through lol.

Uh,you know, The power wires on the ECM you said you just tested that don't have key on power, remember??
Trace those to see where they go.
The other end of them should be hooked to key on power.

Yes. And about the ground wires, don't even talk about anything else until you find the end of those power wires or what they are tied into.
Those fuses you put in are a bandaid. They will be unhooked/removed when you find the answer to where these wires go.

You will find those wires and where they go.
Again, do not worry about anything else.

Ok so im back, because i tried following it and it was impossible once it got in the wire loom plastic thing, and im not just saying that. I have to know where they are connected to be able to locate them, so do you know where i have to look because if you dont believe me ill go take a picture and show you just to prove it to you.

Your not going to find them spending time on the computer.
Where they go sux, its hard and its a major pain in the azz.
Now go find them.
And stay in school so you don't get stuck working on this krap all your life like some of us.

No it's not hard its impossible because they arent visible for like 3 feet, then the loom breaks into 2 one goes towards battery, the other heads next to the firewall up under the distributor, and the injector wires loom branches into it aswell near the valve cover back. So i dont get how i can do it without knowing their location they should be hooked up at, you get what i mean?

Re: Still cant get l98 motor started? Please help
Ok so after reading about a similar issue on a jeep forum (he had the l98 to) I discovered that the pin outs b1, and c16 should go into one wire and have a constant power supply, and pin b6 is a switched power source. So can wire the pins b1, and c16 together then run them to my battery positive with like 0gauge wire and a 100amp fuse. then if it runs pin b1 issnt the issue rite? or will it just start a fire or blow my ecm
EDIT: I just found out threw a diagram the pin out wire in a6 goes to the esc (eletronic spark control) and its connected to mine so its either of the other two wires so i can do what i said above rite?

Re: Still cant get l98 motor started? Please help
I have told you the above several times. 0 gauge is way overkill . Yes you can tie the two together and jun them to a fuse block or inline fuse. If you wired accessory power to your new fuse box you can run a6 there hope you left in the buss.

Ok well im going to go wire them up and see if it fixes the problem. Also you never said 0gauge is overkill because i never asked before, i just suggested using it since its going to go to ecm. Ill use like 12, or 16 then.

This fuel injection crap is B.S I just hooked up all 3 wires the 2 orange together to the battery with fuse, then the pink/blk one to a switched power source the ignition fuse, and i had to remove the fuse line from the injectors and now the injectors arent getting 12volts from the ecm, or if i connect a wire and run it where it was so it makes no since, because they worked like they are now before i disconnected the fuse
