Vortec Block - which starter?

I am trying to get my brother's car running since it's getting warm out. The block itself is from a 97 suburban and he is running hedman short tube headers. The truck starter does not clear the collectors on the headers. Is their any alternative that will fit the stagger starter bolt pattern for a 168 tooth flywheel without spending an arm and a leg?

Re: Vortec Block - which starter?

Put the smaller flex plate on it from a 92 sbc and use a 92 5spd or LT1 starter.
If your block isnt drilled with 3bolts, you can drill n tap it and be just fine.
