hey guys. im pretty new to this board. but i have an issue with my car it is a 1985 z28 its the original 305 and carb. i sprayed out the engine bay one day at the self serve car wash and fried the ecm so i replaced it and it ran for a few days pretty well and then i could get it to start but would ide for a little bit but die or if i pushed the gas it would die off too but i noticed one of my tail pipes was pushing out white smoke and was wondering if a cracked headgasket my bet the issue

have you pulled the distributor cap to check for moisture ?

 

it sat for a good 3 months before i figured out the ecm was bad and i disconnected all electronics and the distributor was dry as a bone

 

i made sure every thing was dry

 

how fresh is your fuel than ?

 

it was fres premium cause i filked it up when i drove it after i replaced the ecm

 

The white smoke is odd you can pull the plugs and look for evidence of a blown head gasket, do a leak down test or when the engine is cold remove the radiator cap and run the engine if its real bad you will see alot of bubbles after the thermostat opens.
