Car will not start!
My car was sitting in my parents garage for about 8 years (and never driven or started much for that matter). I finally brought to my house when I had the money to tow it. I was able to start it after putting a new battery in, and drove it around the block a few times. Needless to say it ran extremely rough. So I decided to do a tune up; here is what I have replace:
Spark plugs
Spark plug wires
Distributer cap
Rotor
Fuel filter
Transmission filter
Oil/filter
Now when I try to start the car, it simply turns over and will not start. If I spray a steady stream of starting fluid it will stay running but very rough. As soon as the starting fluid is not being sprayed, the car dies. I also put fresh gas, once I replaced the fuel filter.
Does this sound like a fuel pump problem? What are some other options I can look into? Thanks!

Check your fuel pressure if thats ok sounds like your injectors are all gummed up from varnished fuel.

Re: Car will not start!
So it looks like it is the fuel pump. Not getting any pressure at all, and not getting any flow in the fuel lines either.
Still going to clean the injectors as well since it isn't going to hurt.
That's for the help.

If its the original Multecs the coils are fuel cooled and with age they become problematic. It woudl not be worth you spending the money to have them cleaned and flow tested.

If your injectors look like this yes I would. Southbayfuel injectors has some nice refurbished bosch 3's.

other than doing a fuel pressure test and check your spark but you said it runs off starter fluid. a cheap check is to get a noid light to see if the ecm is pulsing the injectors . Since this car sat for so long I think it is fuel related.

Re: Car will not start!
Great thanks for the insight. I am going to put the new fuel pump in there first. I have an engine on a stand in the garage already and don't want to spend extra money on injectors when I am going to drop this new engine in their soon already. I just want my car ready to drive around this spring to have some fun!!!
