Squealing noise

When I accelerate there's a loud squealing noise and then the check engine light comes on I can't figure out what it is anybody got any suggestions

It helps to know the year, engine size, ect.
Check the belt(s) for looseness.

1986 305 tpi the belts are good I checked those
