Car: 1992 Firebird
Engine: 3.1 L V6
Transmission: Automatic
Car drives without pressing pedal
I have a 1992 3.1 Firebird and when i start the car it idles normal, but when i press any amount of force on the accelerator. The car will jump to 3000 RPM even when i take my foot off. What could it be?

Check the pedal and throttle cable/ linkage is free to move and not being jammed up when open

Also, make sure the T-body is clean and not gumed up with oily stuff.

What else could it be if these two things are not the problem? Because I work a lot and go to college so I don't have a lot of free time and when I get the free time i will need to know everything that could be the cause of this problem
