oil pressure reading high

My oil pressure gauge reads 60 or past 60 with any kind of throttle. If its warm and idleing at a stoplight it comes down to 30 any hint of gas pedal it shoots up to 60. Is it the sending unit or a serious problem?

Re: oil pressure reading high

Put a mechanical gauge on it and retest, if oil psi is normal, replace the sending unit.

Re: oil pressure reading high

Mine does this exact same thing. I never bothered to verify with a different gauge though since the oil pressure sensors in these cars have a history of not being the most accurate things.

Re: oil pressure reading high

Sending units are fairly cheap, I normaly just replace them to check them
