I'm going to be rebuilding the the 350 in my car that I am currently borrowing from my cousin, I am going to put a larger cam and a more recent intake on it. My question is that the block has already been bored .060 over on its last build around 13 years ago and I would like to re ring it while I have the motor apart, so I was wondering if I can hone the block and just put a cast ring set on it and hopefully fix the blow by problem? The problem which led me to believe that I need rings is that I have a major oil leak problem out of the breather on the driverside, it's spitting oil right onto my header and making it smoke like crazy. It's not the valve cover gasket because I've already replaced that and it's leaking pretty bad out of the rear main and timing chain cover so I gotta pull the motor anyway. Let me know what you think.
