who carries this size piston
my friend who is building a race only motor needs to know who makes a 4.030 piston for a 6 inch rod and a 3.750 stoke that can handle a 150 shot of nitrous. For his 86 camaro. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Re: who carries this size piston
PLENTY of those around. Go to Summit and start searching for SBC pistons, 4.030" bore, 3.75" stroke (383ci) and 6" rod length. Summit has an excellent way of narrowing down the choices based on specs.
You'll want a FORGED piston if you're going to play with nitrous or boost, in all likelyhood. Yes, you can do it with cast or hypereutectic pistons, but it's a LOT safer and more forgiving if you used forged.
After that you really only need to figure out if you need a common flattop piston, or dished or domed to hit the compression ratio you are targeting for your combo.

Tell ya what bud.If your friend doesn't even know where to buy a common .030 piston,it does sound like he is over reaching his experience level with 150 shot of nitrous.Let alone rebuilding a performance engine. For a nitrous engine piston selection includes a lower top ring land to different ring gaps...........well a whole host of things.
